Sixteen killed in coal mine blast

Reports taken from Reuters, Xinhua and other sources state that a gas explosion killed at least 16 workers in the state-owned Majiazi [Mengjiagou] Coal Mine near Fushun in Liaoning Province.


According to the media reports, a woman at the coal office in Xinbin County, Liaoning province said that of the 46 miners on duty, 16 are believed dead, 10 remain missing and 20 have escaped.
