Fifteen miners found dead after flood in Henan coal mine

Fifteen miners have been found dead after a flood swept through the Anli coal mine in Henan Province on 26 May 2003.

The flood caused a shaft to collapse on the 42 miners believed to be working at the time. A total of 27 miners managed to escape. Nine bodies were discovered on 9 June and the remaining six bodies were found on 12 June.

This accident is the latest in a series of explosions and floods in Chinese mines in the past few weeks.
