Twenty-one miners have been killed after a gas explosion occurred at a coal mine in Fuxin City in Liaoning Province, northeast China.
The number of injured miners rose to 36 and five others were still missing as of the afternoon of 28 June, Xinhua reported. Only 12 miners managed to escape.
The accident happened at around 9 A.M. on 28 June in the Wulong Coal Mine, which was owned by the Fuxin Mining Industrial Group, according to Liaoning Provincial Coal Mine Safety Supervision Administration.
